AT&T โทษ Alcatel-Lucent ว่าทำให้อัพโหลดช้า

หลังจากมีข่าวผู้ใช้จำนวนมากรายงานว่าความเร็วอินเทอร์เน็ตฝั่งอัพโหลดของ AT&T ตกลงต่ำกว่า 100kbps ตอนนี้ก็ถึงคิวที่ AT&T จะออกมาแถลงไขโดย AT&T อ้างว่าพบปัญหาจากซอฟต์แวร์ในอุปกรณ์ของ Alcatel-Lucent ที่ทำให้การเชื่อมต่อกับอุปกรณ์ที่รองรับเทคโนโลยี HSUPA (เช่น iPhone 4) มีปัญหาได้ความเร็วในการอัพโหลดต่ำ ซึ่งตอนนี้ AT&T ได้หาวิธีแก้ไขเป็นการเฉพาะหน้าไปแล้ว

AT&T เริ่มจำกัดปริมาณการใช้งาน data

ตั้งแต่วันที่ 7 มิถุนายนนี้เป็นต้นไป AT&T ผู้ให้บริการรายใหญ่อันดับ 2 ของอเมริกาจะเปลี่ยนแผนให้บริการจากเดิมที่ลูกค้าสามารถใช้ data ได้ไม่จำกัด โดยจ่ายเดือนละ US$29.99  เป็น 2 แผนใหม่

• DataPlus: US$15 ใช้ได้ 200MB เกินจากนี้คิด US$15 ต่อ 200MB
• DataPro: US$25 ใช้ได้ 2GB เกินจากนี้คิด US$10 ต่อ 1GB
  

Japan, America, and Western Europe users pay the most expensive mobile prices

Wireless Intelligence ranked top 25 mobile operators by revenue. On the top was China Mobile, the largest mobile operator in terms of subscribers and revenue. The second place was Vodafone group, based mainly in Western Europe. American operators: Verizon (#4), AT&T (#6), and Sprint (#10), all were in the top ten. However,  Japanese operators: NTT DoCoMo (#7), KDDI (#9), and SoftBank Mobile (#13) were among the highest ARPU in the list, ranging from US $60 to US $80. Indian-based operators were absent from the list.

Network Outsourcing Deals

Australia's 3rd largest mobile operator VHA - a 50:50 joint-venture between Vodafone and Hutchison - is to outsource its network operations to Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) in a seven-year deal expected to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The contract includes service management for a number of key parts of VHA’s mobile network - core, transmission and radio networks - and equipment supply for its core network. The deal was VHA’s "first major network contract” since the company’s formation.
