Jows' quarterly update

Executive summary for trends in Telecom industry (Q2/2009)

LTE:
Only big names go LTE, competing to secure the technology leadership. No obvious demand and need several years for market to mature.
Device:3G is not anymore "phone-only" business. It turns out that bandwidth requirement grows as screen gets bigger. Starting from iPhone, now focusing on dongles, and netbooks are coming their way. There's one thing that these devices have in common -- Wi-Fi.
ARPU:
No one could stop its fall, except IC barrier. Introducing flat-rate to guarantee ARPU is a known remedy for quite sometime.
WiMAX:is dead.
